North America.jpg 120V North American Operation
For North American heat treaters who can't get access to 240V, the KH Series is made just for you. KH Series heat treat ovens are designed to operate from the North American standard household voltage of 120V.

The KH Series models are very capable of reaching temperature, however they will take about twice as long to get there than a 240V model. Generally speaking they will reach 1650°F in about 1-1/2 hours.

Side Opening Door

Heat treating requires the removing of some very hot material from the chamber in order to quench. Everything in the chamber is hot, which includes the door. The doors on the KH's swing out and to the side. This puts the super-heated door well away from you as you concentrate on the work at hand.

The side opening door is an excellent design choice and makes all the difference.

Door Latch Final.jpg

        Cool Touch Handle

The handle/latch on our swing out door is conveniently located at the front of the door, not hidden along the side. This spring loaded, phenolic handle is cool to the touch, is one-handed in design and serves as the door latch as well.

Many thanks to those who have offered feedback on our door handle/latch. We have updated the design to make centering, inserting and all-around operation cleaner and easier!

Quiet Drive b_edited.jpg

Quiet Drive Solid State Relay Option

All KH models are available with our optional Quiet Drive Solid State Relay.

It's the job of the relay to turn the heating elements On and Off. A solid state relay can do so up to 120 times per second which allows for incredible temperature control. It also does so without the given, eventual failure of a mechanical relay. We fully expect our solid state relay to last the life of the unit.

We have more to tell you about our solid state relay, our design choices and why you should choose the solid state option. Just click below.

Relay Access Open LB lr.jpg

        Relay Access Port

All KH models incorporate our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement.

Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the relay. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!

It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.

        Power Interrupt Switch

The Power Interrupt Switch removes power from all heating elements as the door is opened and re-applies power as the door is closed.

The switch used for this feature is a true safety switch and is designed specifically for safety applications. This safety switch will literally tear apart and open any welded or stuck contacts - true safety!

Alarm 2018 2.jpg

        Loud Alarm Output Jack

KH models are standard equipped with a Loud Alarm Output Jack for use with our Loud Alarm Option.

All of our controls feature an audible alarm. These alarms let you know when you've reached temperature, and more importantly, when it's time to quench. These alarms however, aren't really loud enough to break through the noise found in a working shop. In response, we've included an alarm output jack on the bottom of the control enclosure that allows you to plug in our Loud Alarm (sold separately). Just plug it in and enjoy 80db of irritating alarm bliss.

KH Door Shield.jpg

        Door Shield

The KH's feature a door shield to provide protection against firebrick damage as well as to reduce the temperature seen at the door and door handle.

        2200°F (1204°C) Maximum Temperature

The maximum usable temperature for the KH models is 2200°F (1204°C). This maximum is well within the range for the vast majority of steels used by knife makers and machine shops.

KH models feature a side-element-only design borrowed from our stellar LB Series models.

LB Swing View 1.jpg

        Swing View Control Enclosure

All temperature controls, except for the Set-Pro, are fitted into our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.

The Swing View is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across the shop. It's that simple.

The swing view pairs well with TAP touchscreen control as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.

LB Tool Rest 1.jpg

        Strong Stand and Tool Rest

The stands of the KH's have been upgraded to a stronger design and include a tool rest.

Cool!
